The Ingenuity of The Mouse Deer

      The Mouse deer and the turtle had a long become best friend. One day they went fishing in a lake. They met a zebra. The zebra wanted to join. Then three of them went together.

      Up on a hill they met an antelope. The antelope also would like to join. Soon the antelope joined in the group. On the way, in a valley they met a wild pig. The wild pig asked whether he could join or not. "of course, its a good idea, it is better become five rather than just the four of us", replied the turtle.

      Arriving at the next hill, they met a bear. Then the six of them continued their journey. Then they met a rhinoceros. "What if i go with you?" asked the rhino. "Why not?" answered all. Even then joined also a bull. " What if i go with you ?" asked the bull. "Why not ?" they replied in unison.

      The next time, the group met a buffalo who eventually participate. Similarly, when they met an elephant. Thus, ten of them marched hand in hand followed the mouse deer and they finally got to the lake intended. What a number of fish that successfully arrested.

     The next day, the bear was in charge of keeping the fish, while the others were going fishing. Suddenly a tiger came approaching. Soon the bear and the tiger involved in the exciting fight. The bear collapsed and all the fish were eaten by the tiger. Successively the tiger then assigned the elephant, the bull, the rhino, the buffalo, the wild pig, the zebra and the antelope. And all of them gave up. Now only the tutle and the mouse deer that had not got their turn to keep the fish. Turtle was considered unlikely powerless against the tiger, so that it was decided the mouse deer would keep the fish.

       Before his friends went fishing, he asked them to collect rattan as much possible. Then each cut approximately one cubit. Soon the mouse deer looked busy making ankle bracelet, body bracelet and neck bracelet. Intermittently the mouse deer looked into the sky as if there was something being noticed by him. The tiger was astonishment, then slowly approached the mouse deer. The mouse deer pretended not to care about the tiger. The tiger asked, " What are those rattan bracelets for?" Answered the mouse deer, "Who wears these bracelets will be able to see what is happening in the sky". Then he looked up as if he was enjoying the view above. The tiger also desired to be able to see what was happening in the sky. How happy yhe mouse deer to hear the request of the tiger. He asked the tiger to sit on the ground with hands ang legs folded. Then he circled the tiger's hands, feet and neck with rattan bracelets as much as possible so that tiger could not move again.

       Once was enough, the group intended to back home, but they argued about the part of the fish they got. They thought who was big would get big part too. The mouse deer did not actually agree with the idea. Then he found the solution. Suddenly the mouse deer jumped and signaled there was a danger. All of them were frightened and scampered. There was which headlong fell, which fell into the hole and some struck upon the snag of roots. Only the mouse deer and the turtle did not run. Together they went home and walked chanting, carrying a lot of fish.
